Volunteers are welcomed to give their time and talent at Austin Recovery in a variety of areas including administrative, 12 Step support, treatment program enhancement, and special event participation.
Qualifications for Volunteer Work
- Interest in and knowledge of chemical dependency recovery
- Some knowledge of the 12 Step support groups (AA/NA/CA/Alanon)
- Skills appropriate to the volunteer position
- Ability to be genuine and support Austin Recovery's treatment philosophy
If you are personally in 12 Step recovery, you need to have:
- Minimum of three months of sobriety to visit Austin Recovery meetings accompanied by a member of a 12 Step group with 1 year or more
- Minimum one year of sobriety to bring meetings in on your own
- Have a sponsor, attend meetings and have worked all the 12 Steps
