Counselor
COUNSELOR
Austin Recovery provides compassionate and effective drug and alcohol treatment since 1967. We are seeking a dedicated full time counselor for our inpatient treatment programs. Qualified applicants must be dependable and professional. Develop treatment plans and counsel patients in group and individual settings. Responsible for case management, crisis intervention, client education and maintaining current documentation for each patient in case load. Competitive salary and benefits.

Must have one of the following current licenses, LCDC, LPC, LMSW or LCSW with a minimum two years experience working with chemical dependency patients. Must have effective oral and written communication skills and ability to establish effective therapeutic rapport with clients.

LCDC Counselor Intern / Direct Care Staff
LCDC COUNSELOR INTERN/ DIRECT CARE STAFF - (3pm-11pm & 11pm-7am shifts)

Austin Recovery provides affordable, effective and compassionate drug and alcohol treatment since 1967. We are currently seeking a qualified, dedicated individual to provide direct patient care.

• Monitor patients during non-structured intervals, promoting and ensuring patient safety at all times.
• Organize and monitor recreation and physical fitness activities.
• Monitor in-house meetings, such as study groups and patient interactions.
• Facilitates Step Study Lessons.
• Performs administrative, other duties as assigned.
• Facilitate patient’s self-administration of medication and reconcile medication inventories.
• Communicate patient behavior/interaction with counseling staff/coordinators.
• Transport patients to and from appointments and meetings.
• Respond to problems and crisis according to facility procedures and behavior management guidelines.

Qualified applicants must have some college hours working toward a degree OR have a certification letter from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) stating your Counselor Intern (CI) status. Must also have knowledge of 12 step programs and support groups (A.A. /N.A.). CI’s can earn additional counselor intern hours while working.
