Program Achievements and Successes: Our primary treatment goals are to get clients clean and sober and stabilize them for long-term recovery through education and counseling. Our evaluation data shows that we consistently reach those goals. For example, we know that in the past year, 80 percent of our clients remained abstinent from all substances for at least 60-days after leaving treatment. We also know that the number of days they experienced life problems in a variety of areas - employment, family, marital, emotional and psychological - was much reduced, from 20 days per month to fewer than 10 per month at the follow-up.

How many people have an alcohol or drug abuse problem? 

• Nationally, the rate of substance dependence or abuse was 8.9% for youths aged 12 to 17; it was 21.7% for persons aged 18 to 25 and 7.3% for persons aged 26 or older. (2002 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, NSDUH).
