Training Coordinator
Austin Recovery provides affordable, effective and compassionate drug and alcohol treatment since 1967. We are currently seeking a training coordinator.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develops and coordinates all agency training activities.
- Plans, performs and coordinates the performance of, and documents all, required staff training on a monthly basis. Produces reports of training activity.
- Maintains a database tracking system to monitor (ADP/HRB) staff required training compliance with other agency training requirements.
- Updates and edits training database and training tracking table on a monthly basis.
- Plans, performs and coordinates the performance of and documents additional staff training in the areas of staff development.
- Serves as continuing educations coordinator and monitors compliance with DSHS standards for continuing education presentations.
- Develops, issues and files the training certificate copies.
- Liaison with interagency training alliance, UT, PIR, HIV Connection, etc.
- Coordinates and posts monthly training agendas and distribute to AR staff and community agencies.
- Coordinates monthly check for program directors to comply with policies on personnel and training requirements.
- Executes monthly staff training status reports from the database and sends them to program directors and other relevant staff.
- Provides new hire orientation on policies and training requirements.
- Maintains pre-service education institution status and updates/submits any PSEI changes to DSHS.
- Audits employee training files and documents compliance with monitoring agencies' training requirements.
- Analyzes AR's training needs from employee/supervisor/database information/input and develops training classes to address those needs.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the director of human resources.
Qualifications:
- Specific knowledge of adult education principles, practices and techniques; training procedures and techniques; group dynamics; management, staff and organizational development theories and practices; and curriculum development.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Strong computer skills and advanced skills in MS Office programs. Prefer ACCESS experience. Specific knowledge and skill in using computer applications for word processing and data analysis
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to commence Certified American Red Cross CPR instructor training within one week from hire date and completion date within two months from hire date
- Ability to obtain Continuing Education Coordinator certification within one month from hire date
Education & Experience:
- Relevant bachelor's degree required
- Three years minimum work experience as a trainer/staff development specialist. Specific experience in: training, procuring trainers, coordinating training activities, maintaining staff development documentation, utilizing and developing training tools, and performing training needs assessments.
- Three years minimum in interpretation ad presentation of company and monitoring agencies' policies and procedures/statutes. Knowledge of DSHS Licensure standards and CARF standards preferred.
- Knowledge of chemical dependency environment and LCDC license preferred
