Payroll Specialist
Austin Recovery provides compassionate and effective drug and alcohol treatment since 1967. We are currently seeking a full-time Payroll Specialist.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 225 employees across 4 locations.
- Collects and reviews timesheets for completeness, accuracy, adherence to policies, and internal controls such as supervisor’s signature.
- Reviews the accuracy of the payroll using the payroll software reports. Files the reports in a confidential manner.
- Assists in designing and writing both routine and ad hoc reports in the companion PayCom report writer software.
- Creates reports to distribute benefit costs to appropriate departments and funding sources using payroll information.
- Assists Accounting Department in payroll related activities such as modeling payroll and related fringes for budgets and grants proposals as well as provide bi-weekly payroll reports.
- Maintains and updates all 401(k) employee deferral contributions, as well as make timely contributions after each payroll to 401(k) Plan account.
- Accurately maintain and update employee accruals for vacation, sick, holiday and funeral hours.
- Enter all employee payroll deductions to include but not limited to, benefit premiums, wage garnishments, United Way contributions and employee advances.
- Work with PayCom to prepare year end information for employee W-2’s.
- Assists Human Resources Director and Human Resources Generalist in making copies, filing, and other similar tasks as assigned.
- Responds to employee inquiries concerning payroll issues.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work under deadlines and timelines and ability to input data accurately required.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- PayCom payroll software experience preferred, but not required.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Payroll experience/knowledge required.
- Human Resources experience preferred.
