Austin Recovery provides compassionate and effective drug and alcohol treatment since 1967. We are currently seeking a dedicated full-time Technical Support personnel.

Job Description

Provide companywide technology support for all four Austin Recovery locations. Including software, hardware and telephone support.

Location

All four Austin locations for Austin Recovery:

  • Buda
  • South Congress Ave
  • Slaughter Lane
  • Cross Park Drive

Tasks and Activities

  • Provide first line response for users requiring assistance with information technology issues and problems.
  • Respond to requests for technical assistance by phone, email and help desk management system.
  • Track issues to resolution updating the internal help desk and communicating with relevant business units.
  • Escalate more involved problems to the appropriate person.
  • Provide a single view to the organization for information technology related problems.
  • Clean, modify and repair computer hardware including monitors, printers and keyboards.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Understanding and knowledge of networks and networking protocols (TCP/IP,DHCP, DNS, VPN, etc.)
  • VOiP knowledge
  • Operating Systems (Windows XP Windows 7 and Windows 2008 Server,)
  • Microsoft Office 2010
  • Internet Explorer
  • Common IT applications and common hardware knowledge (e.g. Mouse, Keyboard, Printing and Outlook)
  • Customer Service Skills
  • Excellent Communication, written and verbal
  • Telephone confidence
  • Organizational Skills
  • Time management
  • Respond to assigned tickets and support requests in a timely manner. Keep users informed about the status of their requests.
  • Create and maintain end user support documentation
  • Coordinate warranty support with vendors.
  • Assist with planned facilities maintenance, cubicle and office moves.
  • Perform fresh installs of operating systems and office suites.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot computer and software issues
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange
  • Basic understanding of network switching, IP addressing
  • Move and setup computer workstations and all related equipment.
  • Some experience with AV systems, projectors, HD televisions, audio receivers etc.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task, organize and document many tasks at one time
  • Adaptable to new technologies
  • Able to handle process and procedure dynamics (constantly changing environment)
  • Qualifications
  • Required Microsoft Certified Professional
  • Operating systems, Network and IT hardware

Requirements

  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer
  • On call for facilities that operate 24/7
  • Ability to work after hours at times
  • Reliable transportation for on-site calls during and after hours and transport of equipment
  • Phone with data package (possible reimbursement)
  • Heavy lifting 50-70lbs unassisted

Working Conditions

  • Over 90% of the work will be indoors
  • May require work on a ladder at times
  • Lifting, bending, standing, kneeling, crawling may be required at times.

Experience

  • Three (3) years or more of related experience in the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of computers, phones and wide area networks as well as various software applications
